Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is David Way and I am the owner /operator of Way Woodcraft. I've been around the manufacturing and woodworking industry for 15 years and I love the art of joinery and working with wood. 

After a 4 year apprenticeship under many highly skilled craftsman, I received my inter-provincial certification. Now, as a journeyman joiner, I am blessed to be able to create fine furniture and millwork from one of God's most efficient plants: the tree.

Not only do trees clean our air, but their fruit nourishes our bodies. We derive medicines from their bark, leaves, roots and blossoms. We burn them for warmth and cook our food over the ensuing fire. We build our homes from them to shelter us from the elements. And finally to my area of expertise, furnishings and functional art for those homes we build.

There is nothing more pleasing than the aroma of freshly sawn lumber. Whether it's the faint red wine fragrance of a choice piece of black walnut, the sweet sent of cherry wood or the slightly harsh, but still fragrant odor of resin-filled knotty pine.

I hand pick all of my materials for colour, grain orientation and minimal occurrence of defects. Whenever possible I am careful to choose lumber sawn from the same tree to encourage uniformity of grain and texture. Although individual pieces of wood accept a stain and finish differently, you will find our finishes to be of the finest quality. I use the expertise of David Wallis (of Wallis Woodcraft) for my finishing.  David is renowned throughout North America for his high quality custom finishes.
